The Guizhou CCC&TSPM held a training program for the provincial young and middle-aged clergy from September 5 to 10, 2017. Fifty leaders of local churches and CCC&TSPMs attended it.
Meanwhile, the United Front Work Department of CPC Central Committee conducted a high level national training course for middle-aged and young Christian representatives in Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou, from Sept 5 to 13.
The provincial program gave an introduction to the law on the administration of activities of overseas NGOs in China, the creation and progress of the "Belt and Road Initiatives", research on China's religious modernization issues, challenges that Chinese Christianity faces and its responses under the new circumstances, and connecting society with the church.
The training broadened their horizon, expanded their mind, and improved their learning, thinking, innovation and practical abilities. The attendants said that the program furthered the thought of sinicization of Christianity in combination with the current situation of the church in Guizhou and provided new ways of thinking about relevant guidelines and policies and challenges. The program was also a platform for the clergy to communicate with each other.
In recent years, a batch of young clergy who have received systematic theological education encountered a lot of realistic and thorny problems in pastoral work, but they are given few training opportunities with a lack of stamina.
