From March 1-3, 2017, the National CCC&TSPM hosted a "Social Service Training Class" in Guizhou Bible School. Chen Yongjia, Director at the Social Service Department of the Chinese Church Hong Kong Synod, and Liu Bin, Assistant Professor at the Department of Social Work of Chongqing Normal University, trained 45 fellow workers from the province who attended the class. The training covered topics such as "Value Concept of Social Service," "Theoretical Models," "Practice and Method," "Project Operation Management," "Church Social Service," and others.
The teachers used simple methods of explanation during the training, like games and homework, to guide the attendees in understanding the roles and details of social service better, which benefited everyone present.
The attendees expressed feelings like "before learning about social service, it was all general work. From this training, we know that we need to designate a special effort for social service," "actions speak louder than words. We need to have projects, plans, organization, and power of execution," "the church should focus on the society and care for the community in addition to its duty to introduce the love of Christ to society so that everyone can share the same blue sky," and "we should understand the needs of those around us and use all our efforts to serve society and be a good steward of God."
