Christians in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, donated nearly one million yuan in supplies to support the post-flood reconstruction in Zixing, Chenzhou, Hunan Province.

A shipment of disaster relief supplies, packed and loaded, departed from Chongyi Church and headed to the disaster-affected areas in Zixing City, Hunan Province, on September 3, said Hangzhou CC&TSPM.

In July of this year, Zixing City in Chenzhou, Hunan Province, was hit by severe flooding. As of the evening of August 19, after extensive search and rescue efforts, 50 residents from 26 villages in 5 townships, Zixing City, died due to the disaster, with 15 people still missing, according to CCTV News. The lives of the people in the disaster area are facing severe challenges, and their homes are in urgent need of reconstruction.

After Hangzhou CC&TSPM received an urgent plea for help from local churches in Hunan, nine churches, including Chongyi Church, Gulou Church, and Sicheng Church, joined this charity effort.

These churches raised disaster relief supplies worth over one million yuan, including 312 boxes containing 16,000 pairs of sandals specifically prepared for children in the disaster area. Each pair was calculated at a factory price of 35 yuan, with a total value exceeding 560,000 yuan. Additionally, there were 316 packages of seasonal clothes, valued at over 400,000 yuan.
