A church in Ningde City, Fujian Province, celebrated its hundredth anniversary with a special worship service, reflecting on its rich history

During the worship service at Hanyang Church in Fu'an, Ningde, Rev. Lin Xiuyue preached a sermon titled "Remembering God's Grace, Courageously Bearing Commission," based on Deuteronomy 8:1-10, said Fu'an Municipal TSPM. He mentioned that in remembrance of God’s grace, believers can be thankful for God's guidance and provision and reflect on His will, love, and provision, as well as keep the commandments with reverence for the Almighty.

In the welcoming address, Rev. Chen Lifen revisited the hundred-year journey of Hanyang Church. In 1921, believers purchased a courtyard-style wooden house, converting it into a chapel. In 1985, the church was reopened. In 2008, Rev. Chen Shaotong was inaugurated at the church, becoming the first native Fu'an pastor in the church after its reopening. At the end of October 2016, the church embarked on a seven-year renovation project. On October 27, 2023, it was recognized as a grassroot contact point for ethnic, religious, overseas Chinese, and Taiwanese affairs by the Standing Committee of the Ningde Municipal People's Congress.
