A doctoral tutor from Shanghai was invited to give a special lecture titled "Religious Beliefs in an Epochal Era: Challenges and Opportunities of the Indigenization of Christianity in China."
A distinguished professor from Fudan University, Shanghai, affiliated with the State Administration for Religious Affairs' panel of experts and also serving as a counselor to the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, Dr. Xu Yihua, was invited to give a lecture for the " From a Common Origin" brand project on August 9th.
Drawing inspiration from the scholarly work "Religious Beliefs in an Epochal Era," authored by Mr. Wu Yaozong, the esteemed founder of TSPM, Professor Xu Yihua expounded on the expressions of religious application. He pointed out that, within the context of significant transformations in the contemporary era, Chinese churches were confronted with challenges and opportunities. The three main themes of Professor Xu's speech were the difficulties the Chinese Church is currently facing, the transformative changes that the current epoch has catalyzed, and the overarching mission that is appropriate for this particular epoch.
This lecture by Professor Xu marked the inaugural event following the commencement ceremony of the "From a Common Origin" brand project. Emanating from this event, which witnessed the participation of over a hundred pastoral workers from these three districts in Shanghai, the brand project is set to unfold in diverse forms of project activities as it embarks on its journey.
