A Shaanxi church held a Christmas Sunday worship service one week in advance of Christmas Day, following the public health guidelines aimed to contain COVID-19.
On December 19 in Shilipu Church, Baoji, Shaanxi, churchgoers attended the service following the COVID-19 protocols, such as wearing masks, showing their health codes, registering their information, and sitting at intervals as per the social distancing requirements.
The service began with a female believer signing the hymn O Come, All Ye Faithful. Then, three choirs jointly sang two songs Silent Night! Holy Night! and The Word Made Flesh.
Based on Luke 2:8-14, Rev. Wang Binghui gave a sermon titled From the Manger to the Cross, sharing about "the Holy Child in the manger" and "Jesus on the cross".
After the sermon, theatrical performances were presented, including a Nativity play, chorus, duet song, and dances in different styles, including one in sign language.
Upon leaving the sanctuary, every participant received a Christmas gift.
