On Sunday, July 19, rain began in the early morning hours in Dalian, China''s northeastern Liaoning Province, accompanied by gusts of wind.
Dalian Fengshou Road Church resumed their Sunday gatherings on this day. In the rain, the co-workers served the worshippers. They still scanned health codes, took temperatures, and registered people as they entered the church. Ushers seated the people who then began to sing praises, read the Bible, and pray under the leadership of the choir.
At 9:30, after praise and worship, Pastor An Li went up to the altar and led the congregation in reading John 12 and then gave a three-point sermon which was entitled, “We Want to Meet Jesus”.
The church also delivered the good news that beginning July 20, the church would resume in-person gatherings on Wednesday and Saturday in addition to three gatherings on Sunday. These would be all held online simultaneously. Other online gatherings such as Morning Prayer would continue unchanged.
Two sisters talked as they walked along: “It is good that we can come to the church three times a week for gatherings.”
