On May 27, Jilin Provincial CC&TSPM announced that this year's pastoral fund would be used to assist pastoral staff with little means to support themselves due to the financial difficulties caused by COVID-19.
The local church should also give priority to ensuring the needs of full-time pastoral staff. At the same time, necessary support should be provided to families of believers who have had difficulty in living due to the pandemic, according to Jilin CC&TSPM.
The umbrella organization for the registered Protestant church in Jilin notified the church to implement key regulations during the pandemic.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the church in Jilin has implemented the "double suspension" (suspending the opening of places of worship and religious activities) measures from the end of January. The church has donated funds and materials and also organized believers to participate in the prevention and control of the pandemic. Due to the recent rebound in the number of persons who have tested positive for Covid-19, Jilin City has been locked down and religious sites have continued to be closed.
The Jilin CC&TSPM proposed that grass-roots churches should adopt various methods to give believers guidance in their spiritual life and conduct targeted visits.
At the same time, the church management organization should perform its duties in accordance with the requirements of the church regulations. They should do a good job in fire safety management, improve the safety management system, and security personnel should regularly inspect the facilities, ensuring the safety of the church buildings and service utilities.
It is also necessary to be vigilant against the activities of the Shincheonji Cult. The church should educate believers not to participate in private activities, not to listen to heresy, not be confused by eschatology, and consciously resist the destructive activities of heretics.
