From August 12 to 16, 2019, Shanxi Linfen Church held a sacred music training program for more than 400 local church workers.
The activities were said to celebrate Communist China's 70th anniversary.
The training started with a daily morning prayer and sermon. Teacher Wang Ying from the Beijing-based Yanjing Theological Seminary was one of the speakers. She delivered courses on hymns and pastoring as well as worship and music. Debated topics covered the definition and essence of worship, music in the Bible, the relationship between hymns and God, the church, the worldview, and the view of time, etc.
The participants were grouped to have a choral exercise under the guidance of Teacher Wang. In particular, the patriotic songs "My Motherland and Me" and "Bless Our Country, O Lord God" were also sung.
A sacred music worship service was conducted in the afternoon of Aug 15 and a worship and praise concert followed in the evening.
On the last day, a sermon presentation meeting was ongoing as eight workers preached a message of faith and patriotism through the patriotic stories of biblical figures.
Meanwhile, a painting and calligraphy exhibition was held in the church's basement. The content mainly portrayed patriotism, blessings to China, and Bible verses.
