On August 5, 2018, Rev. Lin Peiquan, Nanjing Union Theological Seminary's postgraduate tutor, was invited to preach in his hometown's megachurch.
Born in Fuzhou, Lin was a teacher of the Old Testament in the national seminary and later served as a volunteer pastor in Nanjing Saint Paul's Church. He is the son-in-law of the deceased professors of NUTS, Rev. Xu Dingxin and Professor Mo Ruxi.
Citing John 6:24-35, the professor told the congregation of Huaxiang Church that the bread of life was found in no one else, but Jesus, and only he could satisfy people's spiritual thirst. He hoped that the attendees would be convinced of the belief.
The service concluded with his benediction for the country's development, the church's prosperity and the peace of the congregation.
In 2005, he began to be involved in the revision work of the Old Testament of the Chinese Union Version and dedicated to the introduction and popularization of the revised version. Lin emphasized the accuracy of the Chinese Bible translation was crucial for Chinese Christians to understand the word of God. He is also a famous Hebrew expert.
