This year marks the 38th anniversary of the Medical Clinic at Huaxiang (Flower Lane) Church in Fuzhou, Fujian.
Apart from medical, health-care, and disease prevention services the medical team carries out health lectures, free clinics, and delivers medicine in local churches, impoverished regions, areas of ethnic minorities, and disaster areas.
In 2006, some retired chief physicians joined the clinic, followed by doctors and nurses. They established a management system to normalize the medical work.
Huaxiang Church, the most recognizable and renowned church in Fujian, is in charge of over 30 campuses and gatherings and has 20,000 members. It also receives frequent visits by International pastors and believers.
The clinic gives instructions for church disinfection. Its first priority is to ensure that health emergencies during worship and services can be controlled effectively in the first place.
Since Tuesday, the medical team is on duty during the church service time and serves the congregation on special occasions like Christmas. For insoluble cases, the 30-strong staff offer guidance for and assist patients to transfer to hospitals.
The departments concern internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, stomatology, ENT, ophthalmology, Chinese medicine, acupuncture, and pedicure.
