On January 23, 2018, the 2018 Teacher Forum on the Sinicization of Christianity kicked off in Tianhe Church, the largest church in Guangzhou.
Co-held by the Guangzhou CCC & TSPM and Guangzhou Christian Historical and Cultural Center, the forum is the latest effort of the church in Guangzhou to promote sinicizing Christianity after the Forum on the Sinicization of Christianity conducted in 2016 and weekly lectures given by intellectuals in April 2017.
A topic lecture will be delivered by teachers from China's famous universities each month of 2018.
Wu Ning, an associate researcher from Guangdong Institute of Ethnic and Religious Studies with a Ph. D in history, gave the first lecture titled "Nestorian Christianity" in the forum's opening ceremony.
She talked about the Nestorian Monument in China, the development of Nestorianism, Nestorianism and the sinicization of Christianity, and the religion and Guangzhou. She also extended to problem consciousness of and reflections on research on Nestorian Christianity.
