On January 3, 2018, the Guangzhou Christian Historical and Cultural Research Center affiliated with the Guangdong CCC&TSPM, Christian Cultural Society, and Chinese Christian Literature Council signed an agreement to release a research program on Christian ancestors in Guangzhou.
The program was also aimed at creating a resource platform for historical and cultural studies between churches in Guangdong and Hong Kong.
Several Christian forebears made enormous contributions to the church in Guangzhou, one of the earliest cities where Protestantism was introduced in China.
