Road Huayu Church of Maanshan will give its first theological class that will last two years for its believers starting September 13. Aiming to cultivatr preachers, the class will be held on Tuesday evenings, consisting of a Bible study, Christian theology, practical theology, liturgy and sacred music.
The church staff said that the class has been changed from a "discipleship class" which was opened in 2013. In the beginning, it was only opened for the choir, However, while the church expanded to reach baptized believers from fellowships, additional students were included, including volunteers who have preaching certificates.
Different from the past years, discussions and a test will be set up for the class for the first time this year.
It is said that the church, at the foot of Yushan, is the largest church in the area with a congregation of over 2000 in the city. With a systematic nurturing mechanism, it has a course for catechumens and a Bible class that both lasts for two years. The believers who take the second class after finishing the first one will be developed into mature Christians from being seekers and then be prepared to become the workers of God's kingdom by taking the theological class.
