United Kingdom's Prime Minister Theresa May is ready to challenge United States' President Donald Trump regarding climate change when they meet in Germany for the G20 summit.
According to a report by BBC on Thursday, July 6, Theresa May will say an international agreement discussing climate change should not be renegotiated. The said talk will also reportedly focus on the missile testing of North Korea.
The British prime minister previously invited the US president for a state visit in United Kingdom; but, it has not happened yet. Theresa May has expressed disappointment when Donald Trump pulled US out of the Paris Agreement. It was an agreement which calls on countries to help stop global warming.
"She will say that we don't see any need for renegotiation - we support the Paris Agreement because it delivers," an official of UK government reportedly stated. The official added that Theresa May will raise the climate change issue during the Hamburg meeting to prove that "Britain remains fully committed to the agreement."
Regarding the North Korea's missile testing, United States previously announced that they will use considerable military forces if it is a must. With this, Britain supported the call for action against the threat.
Moreover, an official added that Theresa May will encourage the international community during the G20 meeting to unite against North Korea.
"Our focus is on working with the US and international community on how we can increase pressure and find a peaceful solution to the ongoing threat North Korea poses to international security," the source added."We will continue to play a central role at the UN - supporting resolutions on sanctions that will limit North Korea's ability to pursue its nuclear weapons programme."
