New Year means new beginnings. It has been a worldwide tradition and belief to celebrate the coming of new year. Along with this, people usually do things to make their lives luckier this year compared to last year. However, there are more words which will help us be guided and start our New Year right with these Bible verses.
"God will grant us the desires of our heart" - Psalms 37:4
In whatever we do, we need to give praises and honor to our Lord God. He knows the desires unsaid by our mouth. Despite the fact that we did went through different struggles before, just like the New Year, God will grant us our desires.
"God knows the plans for us to prosper us and give us a future and a hope" - Jeremiah 29:11
As expected of God, despite that the year has end, the nation will not come to an ends. Instead, God restores us with new hope and future for the New Year.
"The peace of God will guard our hearts and minds in Christ" - Philippians 4:7
In the New Year, God's peace will guards our hearts and protects us from sinning. As He tries to clean us for the New Year, we are encouraged by God to completely forgot the old bad ways we had and go on with our new life.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." - 2 Corinthians 5:17
Along with the famous line, "the new has come", old things should be replaced with new things. Just like how we forget and put away or throw the old and unfavorable things in our house, God also wants us to forget the past including the sins we have committed and move on to continue our lives but this time, according to His guidance and Will.
