In Guangdong Province, a church in Guangzhou City provided donations and materials to help an island church in Zhaoqing City, whose believers had been affected by flooding.

On July 3, Rev. Huang Zhengqi of Zion Church led the volunteers of the charity ministry department, with the donations, to go to Jiangkou Church in Fengkai County, Zhaoqing City, to help the believers affected by the disaster, reported Zion Church.

According to CCTV, Zhaoqing City upgraded the Flood Emergency Response to Grade III at 16:00 on June 19 and Fengkai County upgraded it to Grade II at 02:00 on June 20.

Jiangkou Church is located in Zhaoqing City, Fengkai County, on a small island beside the Xijiang River. On the night of June 19, a water leakage was found at the joint of a pier of Hejiang Bridge and the flood wall. The seepage of the river from the bridge underneath continuously caused flooding. The church is fortunately on higher ground and was saved from the raging flood.

However, the area just a few hundred meters away from the church was a disaster area hit by severe flooding. Most of the believers in the church were affected by the flood.

Pastor Huang communicated with the local pastors, church council, and affected believers to understand the difficulties and challenges they faced during the disaster; and sent them supplies to alleviate their immediate needs in post-disaster life.
