On June 22, more than 60 spouses learned to sing hymns at Julong Town Church in Huian County, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province.

This event is part of the church’s Couples' Fellowship, established on May 25, to enhance the happiness of believers' families and to help couples become spiritual leaders within their homes.

The fellowship aspires to achieve the vision of “reviving the family, blessing the offspring, and glorifying God and benefiting the people” by fostering mutual understanding between husbands and wives. The initiative encourages couples to be committed, supportive providers, and contributors to their family, church, and society. Regular gatherings are scheduled for the fourth Saturday of every month.

In the second gathering since the establishment of the fellowship, Rev. Chen quoted Genesis 2:18 and Corinthians 11:9 to deliver a sermon on the topic of “What Does Marriage Actually Look Like?” Rev. Chen said that marriage is a beautiful journey, just like a colorful painting with deep emotions and memories. A happy marriage is a rope by the three strands of husband, wife and Christ. Marriage attains stability only when God is involved.

Rev. Chen highlighted the importance of this initiative in light of rising divorce rates, emphasizing the church’s role in promoting a God-centered view of marriage. He stressed the church's duty to guide people in establishing marriages that align with Christian values, encouraging couples to raise their children with respect for elders and a fear of God.

During the event, two couples shared testimonies of their happy married lives. This was followed by group discussions where participants praised and prayed for each other, reflected on their spouses’ virtues, and acknowledged their own shortcomings in light of biblical teachings.
