Rev. Erik Burklin, president of China Partner, paid a visit to China this month.

After visiting Shanghai and Hubei Province, he and Rev. Hao Wang traveled to Guangdong Province, reported Guangdong CC&TSPM. During his stay in Guangdong from May 13 to 19, he was received by Rev. Fan Hongen, chairman of Guangdong TSPM. The latter expressed gratitude for meeting again five years after Burklin’s last visit.

Rev. Fan introduced the development of churches and theological seminaries in Guangdong Province, as well as the social service ministries and practice of contextualizing the gospel in Guangdong. Subsequently, the delegation also visited CC&TSPMs, theological training centers, and churches in Jieyang and Shenzhen, engaging in exchanges on respective situations, theological education, and social services.

Rev. Burklin expected deeper future cooperations to advance the citizen diplomacy between China and the United States and promote mutual Christian exchanges.
