A special training session on foreign affairs work was conducted at a church in Suzhou.
Over 130 Christian clergy members and leaders from Christian activity sites participated in the training session hosted at Xiangcheng Church on May 11, said Suzhou CC&TSPM.
Dr. Lin Manhong, vice president and general secretary of the China Christian Council (CCC) and dean of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary, was invited to share a lecture titled "Chinese Christianity’ Foreign Exchanges With the World, Cross-Strait Cooperation and Communication." She discussed recent cases of foreign affairs work in Chinese Christian groups, presenting the introduction of related ministries, insights into the status of global Christianity, the challenges and opportunities, and her recommendations.
He Jiemiao, president of Jiangsu CC and president & chairman of Suzhou CC&TSPM, noted that Suzhou, with a high degree of internationalization, conducted foreign exchanges frequently. He emphasized that while exchanging with foreign organizations, churches in the city should take national core interests as the bottom line to safeguard China's sovereignty, security, and development interests, as well as promote China's policy of religious freedom. Additionally, he mentioned the importance of fostering intercultural exchanges and telling the positive story of Suzhou Christianity to establish its good image.
