CWM/Nethersole Fund Delegation Visits China Christian Council

Rev. Wu Wei, president of the China Christian Council (CCC), received the delegation from the Council for World Mission (CMW)/Nethersole Fund at the station of CCC&TSPM.

According to CCC&TSPM, on October 10th, Rev. Wu Wei commended CMW for its "A Cup of Cold Water" initiative, which provided aid to the needy and joined the churches as a partner. Meanwhile, Rev. Wu introduced the development of the mainland churches in recent years and the pastoral challenges they faced, with the aspiration of both parties to extend cooperation in the field of social services and to promote public welfare.

Roland Kun Chee Chow, chairman of the CWM/Nethersole Fund, provided a brief introduction to the fund, addressing the recent progress of the social service ministry. He expressed his expectation for continuous cooperation to foster mutual growth and enhance communication and exchanges.

During the meeting, the delegation also presented a video about the services provided by the fund. In response, Mr. Cai Chaoheng, a staff worker from the Social Service Ministry of CCC&TSPM, briefed about the social service ministry in recent years from the aspects of disaster relief, health care, social welfare, community development, capacity building, advocacy, and awareness campaigns. Rev. Shen Xuebin, residential vice president of CCC, also addressed inquiries from the guests regarding how to conduct every ministry during the COVID-19 period and strategies for nurturing the next generation of social workers.

The CMW/Nethersole Fund was set up on September 19th, 1997. Over the past two decades, it has supported the development of the social service ministry in Mainland China, during which the Fund has initiated more than 180 public service programs with the help of CCC&TSPM, covering areas such as medical care, poverty alleviation, elderly care, infrastructure construction, and capacity-building training of social workers.
