A memorial service was held for a female elder in Jiangsu, eastern China.
The memorial service for Elder Huang Fuyin was held in Suzhou Shishan Church on June 3, according to Suzhou CC&TSPM.
Following the hymn “Full or crescent be the moon,” Rev. Huang Fuping, the supervisor of the Suzhou Municipal Christian Council, preached a sermon titled “Blessed Life”. Rev. Gu Yuntao and Elder Jin Liqin delivered speeches representing pastors and believers. The eldest son and second son of Elder Huang also gave brief eulogies in remembrance of their later mother and expressed gratitude to the attendees.
Despite having never attended school, elder Huang was humble and studious, allowing her to read the Bible fluidly. She devoted her time and energy to serving the church and training godly offspring who had a deep love for God. She prayed with tears many times, calling on her family to donate money for the construction of Shishan Church. Eventually, a Gothic-style church was built by Suzhou believers.
More than 180 people, including Elder Huang’s offspring, and staff members and believers of Shishan Church gathered to pay tribute to Elder Huang at the service.
