A church in China’s southeast coastal Fujian province offered pastoral training for local pastors.
In Luyang Church, Pingtan County, Fuzhou City, Pingtan CC&TSPM on November 29 held a training meeting attended by nearly 100 pastoral staff from the whole region, according to Fujian CC&TSPM.
Rev. Chen Shichun, vice president of Pingtan Christian Council and director of the office of Pingtan CC&TSPM, gave a sermon titled "The Duty of the Shepherd". He encouraged the attendees to be good pastors in the new era, who should be enlightened by the Lord to discipline believers by heart and had a firm mission and a clear vision distinguishing between the primary and the secondary.
Rev. She Yuyun, vice chairman and secretary-general of the Fuzhou Three-Self Patriotic Movement was invited to deliver three speeches based on his rich pastoral experience combined with the current situation of the church.
In the first speech, the pastor mentioned that those chosen by the Lord must have a long-term vision, deep thinking, broad mind, and enriched life, leading staff workers in thinking about the topic of forgiveness.
The second part was describing the service of three kinds of people: doing for themselves, doing for others, and doing for the Lord.
In his third speech, Rev. She shared the three secrets of having a blessed life, namely trusting in God, fearing Him, and seeking Him.
