To celebrate Easter Sunday, a church in north China’s Shanxi Province held a calligraphy exhibition of holy word.

On Easter 2022, Cheng District Church in Jincheng City which suspended all onsite gatherings invited believers to write scriptures using a fountain pen and Chinese brush pen, as well as in the regular script, running script, and cursive handwriting.

Being an ancient Chinese art of writing, Chinese calligraphy is known as "wordless poetry, formless dance, unsighted painting, and silent music". “Apart from stimulating believers' interest in calligraphy, the attempt to write verses with square characters enriches the church life and explores the development of Christianity in China today”, according to the church.
