A foundation stone laying ceremony for a new church and its office complex was convened in Manzhouli, Inner Mongolia.
On April 26, the ceremony was presided over by Rev. Gao Zhigang, vice-president and secretary-general of Hulunbuir CC&TSPM.
Christianity was introduced into Manzhouli more than forty years ago. In the early days, Christians had to gather in personal family houses.
It was not until 2015 that the congregation began to regularly meet in a venue that included a two-story store (more than 300 square meters) donated by a believer, according to Inner Mongolia CC&TSPM.
Prepared to start in January 2019, the project was authorized by the local government in September and approved on April 26, 2021.
With a total area of 4,250 square meters or one acre, and a floor area of 3,392 square meters or 0.83 acre, the project is expected to be completed by October 30, 2021.
Twelve pastors from the city’s eight churches and meeting points prayed for the construction, followed by an offering service.
