On August 25, 2020, a foundation stone laying ceremony was held for a new church to be built in Jiangxi’s capital Nanchang.
The future Desheng Church will be located on Yuping East Street, Jiangkai District, according to Nanchang Zhidao Church. An office building will be also built near it. Estimated to cost 5.37 million dollars (37 million yuan), they will cover about 9,000 square meters.
The cost of the first phase of the project will reach about 3.6 million dollars (25 million yuan).
The ceremony started with the singing of the national anthem and hymns. More than 200 people witnessed it, including religious officials, church leaders, and volunteers.
