Beihai Church in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region reopened on March 28, Palm Sunday.
Through the online and oral notice, the church had informed believers in advance to only use a designated entrance in accordance with its regulations and the arrangements of the attendance. They were required to enter the sanctuary for worship within a specified time frame and no entry was allowed midway through the worship session.
It conducted four services that day, the first and last in Cantonese (local dialect) and the others in Mandarin. The many services could satisfy the desire of believers to worship. They also adopted other methods to avoid the coronavirus pandemic, including shortening the service to only 15 minutes and letting the faithful keep a social distance among themselves.
During the evening service, the Evergreen band played two sacred songs.
At the same time, the church’s other pastoral staff drove for more than an hour to the Nankang Church in Hepu County to give sermons. "We need to stir up the spiritual flame as the churches reopen." A pastor said.
