On the afternoon of September 9, 2020, the new leadership of the Guangdong Provincial CC&TSPM visited the Guangdong Union Theological Seminary on China's Teacher's Day that falls on Sept 10 every year.
The symposium was presided over by Dean Xu Jieping, and 27 teachers and co-workers from the seminary attended, according to the seminary.
At the symposium, Pastor Hongen Fan, chairman of the Guangdong TSPM (Three-Self Patriotic Movement), and Pastor Guo Yun, president of the Guangdong CC (Christian Council) gave greetings to the teachers and co-workers, expressing that the provincial CC&TSPM believed in the importance of theological education and was concerned for the teachers and co-workers.
At the same time, they also encouraged all teachers to do a good job in teaching and educating the students, and to improve as teachers, so as to make the Guangdong church better. Dean Xu Jieping expressed his gratitude on behalf of the college. The teachers and co-workers also had a relaxed exchange with the leaders of the provincial CC&TSPM. Teachers all expressed their appreciation for the support brought by the leaders of the provincial CC&TSPM. They thanked God for their call and love to them and hoped to love the Lord more. They would work together to do the work of theological education, cultivating the workers of the Kingdom of God to spread the gospel more widely and glorify the Lord’s name.
On September 1, the seminary reopened after more than an eight-month long suspension due to the coronavirus pandemic.
