Lvhua Jie Church in Anshan, China’s northeastern Liaoning Province, celebrated its 16th anniversary on September 6, 2020.
During the lockdown, an exterior elevator was set up and the main part of the church building was whitewashed.
Situated by a garden lake and at the foot of Dongshan Scenic Park, the four-story church was crowded with people.
Because the crowd was too large for the main sanctuary, people had to sit on socially-distanced chairs at the church’s square.
Elder Shi Aijun, chairman of Liaoning TSPM, shared a sermon from the Book of Haggai, expecting the glory of the house to be greater than the glory of the former.
The message focused on evangelism, worship, and prayers for blessings, and loving God and our neighbors.
After the sermon, believers presented hymns and dances to the Triune God.
The participants were also given souvenirs.
On August 23, 2020, the church resumed in-person services since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
