On August 7, Rev. Zhao Ailian, the forerunner of the Zibo Church in China's eastern coastal Shandong Province, died at the age of 87.
At 9 o'clock in the morning, a memorial ceremony for her was held at the funeral parlour in Boshan District, according to Zibo CC&TSPM.
The director and chairperson, Pastor Zhai Shanshui of the municipal CC&MPTSA, introduced the life of pastor Zhao Ailian.
Born on April 1, 1933, Rev. Zhao graduated from Nanjing Union Theological Seminary then ordained as a pastor in 1991. In 1986, she established and convened the first representative meeting of the register Boshan church and served as the director and president of the first to fifth Boshan CC&TSPM.
From 1996 to 1999, she served as director and chairman of Zibo CC&TSPM. From 1998 to 2003, she served as Deputy Director, Vice President and President of the Women's Association of Shandong CC&TSPM. From 1998 to 1999, she was honored as an advanced Christian worker in the district and city. In 1996, she was honored as an advanced individual among religions in the province.
The pastors of Shandong CC&TSPM and Zibo CC&TSPM and more than 200 local co-workers attended the service.
