Last Sunday, nine believers were baptized in a church in Longnan, China’s northwestern Gansu Province.
Before entering Chengguan Church in Cheng County, members had to have their temperature taken and register their personal information. Then they kept their distance from others when they took their seats.
After the sermon entitled, The Significance of Baptism, Elder Zhang Wanbin baptized each of the nine persons through sprinkling.
He said excitedly, “I see God’s great grace when there are people willing to be baptized into his name after the coronavirus pandemic. God loves this county very much.”
To prepare for the baptismal service, the staff disinfected key areas such as the main hall, toilets, and pews.
Meanwhile, they did some research on the candidates before their registration.
After the Sunday service, a communion service was held for those new believers to share the Lord’s supper.
