On the morning of June 6th, the Christian Council of Yaodu District, Linfen City, Shanxi Province, held a meeting for co-workers and persons in charge of pastoral areas. At the meeting, arrangements were made for reopening Christian churches and related venues. The meeting put in place procedures that churches needed to follow to prevent and control an outbreak of the pandemic.

After reopening, churches need to limit the number of persons attending worship services, and those who wish to attend need to register before the service. The number of attendees is limited to one-third of the venue’s capacity. Those who enter the church must have their temperature taken, be registered, wear a mask, hold a green code, and practice social distancing. People also need to sit in separate seats.

The regulations also specify that the church districts in the Yaodu region would be opened in six different groups in accordance with their ratings. The city church would be reopened first. Each church needs to form committees made up of at least three persons to see that the regulations are properly implemented.

Anyone entering the church with a temperature higher than 37.3 centigrade, or has a fever or cough, needs to be reported and isolated. Everyone attending the church service needs to wear masks and practice social distancing of at least one-meter. In accordance with national regulations, anyone over 65 years, patients with severe chronic diseases, pregnant women, and youth under 18 years are prohibited from entering. Those who have a history of traveling abroad must present a healthy green code before entering. Sites need to submit photo or video evidence to the Christian Council office of the Sunday service.
