A Hong Kong pastor was tested positive for Covid-19 on February 10 after attending a joint communion service, according to an urgent notice released by the Hong Kong Christian Council the next day.
The pastor, from the Jubilant Grace Methodist Church, was one of the participants in the council's ecumenical communion service which was held on Jan. 23. Though wearing a face mask during the service, he began to feel sick in early February.
The Tsung Tsin Mission of Hong Kong Kau Yan Church where the service was conducted will be thoroughly disinfected.
The council urged all the attendees to observe their physical conditions, seek medical treatment if necessary, and deal with all the documents they received on that day.
It warned that any member who has been diagnosed with the new pneumonia should inform the organizer of the event he or she has attended. The organization also wished for blessings and healing for the pastor and his family.
Moreover, it stated, "in order to support the coronavirus prevention efforts, the organizer has decided to cancel the Ash Wednesday Service 2020 originally scheduled on 26 February, 7p.m., at HKSKH Holy Carpenter Church."
