Lühuajie Church in Anshan, Liaoning, held a special service to commemorate the Lord Jesus Christ's passion on April 19, this year's date for Good Friday.
The congregation was sorrowful and grateful in remembrance of Christ's crucifixion and death at Calvary.
During the service, the choir sang low and euphemistic hymns. The message entitled, "The Seven Last Words from the Cross" was given by Rev. Yuan Ming, president of the Anshan Christian Council.
After the sermon, participants quietly reflected and then confessed their sins in prayer, lowering their heads and closing their eyes. Afterwards, they joined the Holy Communion and received the bread and the cup.
The church in China usually celebrates Good Friday by holding worship services, meditating on Jesus' sacrifice. The scene of Jesus' crucifixion is recorded in Matthew 27, Mark 15, Luke 23 and John 18-19.
