On June 12, 2018, the ground-breaking ceremony for a new church in Jinsha New District, Qitaihe, Heilongjiang, was held.
Rev. Qin Shuping, the church's senior pastor, presided over the ceremony. The ceremony concluded with donations from believers.
The new church will have a total area of 6588 square meters or 1.628 acres, consisting of a main chapel, an annex (the side chapel), and a courtyard, estimated to cost 7 million yuan.
The construction of the side chapel was started last June. To be economical, Rev. Qin and believers launched a special campaign to collect used bricks for the construction three months ago. The congregation picked up more than 200,000 bricks, saving more than 50,000 yuan.
Before the Chinese New Year of 2018, the foundation of the main sanctuary was accomplished. Now more than 100 believers take turns constructing the sanctuary.
