Rev. Xu Enci, former president of the Nanjing CC, died yesterday, aged 88, according to her daughter's message.
Her daughter said, "The good news was that centering around her, we sang hymns and prayed for her. She breathed her last in our love. Thank for the love of the Lord and yours. "
The previous senior pastor of Nanjing Mochou Lu Church said that she dedicated her life to building a church the Lord favors in an interview with the Gospel Times, a Beijing-based Christian news website.
Rev. Li Lancheng, the church's senior pastor, shared Rev. Xu's contributions to the church's restoration. The church was closed during the Cultural Revolution then reopened around 1980. Rev. Xu learned drawing from her husband who was an engineer. She and a worker drew the designs of the sanctuary and pulpits based on the memories of old believers.
The pastor had two daughters. The elder daughter named Xu Ming lives in France and the younger named Xu Jing serves in Nanjing Jiangsu Lu Church.
Her funeral will be held on March 25, 2018.
