The pastoral staff of Hangzhou Chongyi Church joined a blood drive launched by the city's community on March 5, the specific day to commemorate Lei Feng, a soldier famous in China for selflessness and devotion to the Communist Party.
It was the 55th "Lei Feng Day" when people were encouraged to volunteer and help other people to "learn from Comrade Lei Feng".
The megachurch holds a bazaar every November to December and the earnings are used to aid marginalized groups. In 2015, it raised around 140,000 yuan to help a few patients with leukemia and to support free clinics initiated by Hangzhou Christian Council Agape Hospital.
