On October 24, 2017, the Urumqi CCC in Xinjiang held a preaching conference with the theme "Doing Good and Living Fervently."
Citing Psalm 37:37 and Hebrews 10:24, four volunteer preachers and nine pastoral workers all preached sermons on "doing good."
All the sermons concerned church charity's influence and Christian social responsibility, but were delivered from different perspectives. One participant talked about the meaning of goodness in Chinese culture and what good deeds God asks from Christians, while others shared good deeds to show Christian social responsibility and God's eternal rewards for our good deeds in this life. In addition, another speaker listed the biblical basis and principles for good deeds and their benefits.
At the end, Rev. Fan Chenguang gave a speech titled "A Spur to Good Deeds", hoping that all the churches in the city could bring Christ's divine love to believers and non-believers through practicing the biblical teaching.
