"Frankly speaking, I thank the culprit. I might have never known that God is love and my sins are trembling without this traffic accident! " Sister Liu Duojia from Kunming, Yunnan was hit by a van like ten meters on her way to work on March 5, 2006, which caused her legs disabled. However, she experienced Jesus through the incident.
"I was unaware of anything after that. My parents told me that I was in a coma for three months and unable to talk when I woke up, losing consciousness for everything. " She said.
Like many kids, she looked at the sky outside the window when she was young, dreaming that one day she could leave her hometown and see the outside world. Later she was admitted into a college in Jiangxi and studied for three years. After graduation, she passed an interview in early 2016. Then she started the work as an intern in the reception department of a company. Before that Spring Festival holiday was over, she returned to Nanjing to work. However, this tragedy occurred.
After the accident, a woman, who is a colleague of her father, preached the Gospel to her family. They accepted Jesus.Until she was well enough to go out in the wheelchair, she went to church every Sunday with her father. She and her father received baptism at the end of 2007 when she was supported on her feet.
For a long time, her parents took me to many domestic rehabilitation hospitals, while most of the doctors claimed no possibility for her to stand up again and it a waste of money to seek rehabilitative treatment. In early January 2008, a brain surgeon told her that atrophy on her cerebellum showed the impossibility of being back on her feet, and would result in poor intelligence. "I was truly desperate, trying to end my life in one go! I knew that people who commit suicide would never enter heaven after death! However, is it more painful not to walk and live like this without intelligence?"
Thinking about killing herself, she tried all the suicide methods, for instance, jumping out of a train window... In a word, she believed that death was a better way to settle the problem."You have an unfinished road to step on." She heard a voice within her. She replied, "It's better to die than live death." The voice said again, "My grace is sufficient for you." She thought, "A live dog is better than a dead lion. Then I will live for a while. If the situation goes like what that doctor indicated, it will be not later to die."
During the treatment days in a rehabilitation center of a Beijing hospital, she insisted on daily morning prayer --- "Lord, I beg you to save my soul and body. God loves everyone and I'm also people, so I beg the Lord to let me stand and walk! Though I cannot be blameless, I beg you to let me live more fully! I pray that you have mercy one me, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ! " For half a month, she said grace before every breakfast, lunch, dinner, prayed when being treated, and before bedtime. Gradually she got up and walked. "The moment when I stood up, I shouted that give thanks and praise to the Lord, and even the doctor smiled." She recalled.
After some time, she felt better and returned to Kunming. At that time the city's disabled person's federation held a computer training program for the disabled and she enrolled in an AutoCAD class for beginners. Having studied for three months, she was asked by her teacher to challenge a certificate of senior AutoCAD drafter. In the two months before the exam, she read and prepared for it every day at home, meanwhile praying for the exam in the morning, evening, saying grace, and also praying before doing the exercises.
"To be honest, my prayer is a bit preserve -- Lord, you say that your grace is sufficient for me. I pray that you let me pass the exam. Please. I know you love me the most and I also love you! In the Lord's name, Amen!" Maybe God heard her shameless prayer and she studied hard. She passed the exam, what was more, she scored higher than her teacher then.
She said, "It's enough to pray only from your heart. An eloquent speech is unnecessary. Because the Lord values your heart rather than edited rhetoric. God, who is love, cares our hearts and insides, not appearance or form."
She claimed that her toughest time was in the wheelchair. All that she could do was stay at home and surf the Internet. When it was time to out, her mother pushed her in a wheelchair, but over time, she suffered from that kind of life.
She concluded, "I went through the days by prayer, for I kept overcoming inner weakness with faith and grew up until stood again and walked! Faith, hope, and love are indispensable in Christ! If I didn't have faith and hope in the Lord Jesus Christ, I would have been defeated by Satan then never stand as long as I live. So please give thanks to the Lord who loves us with faith and hope."
