The China Christian Council (CCC) and Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM) of Suzhou in Anhui Province hosted the first forum on Chinese studies at the Suzhou Gospel Church on March 18, 2017, to investigate connections between Biblical truth, Christian culture, and Chinese culture.
Professor Emeritus Yan Huazhi of the Chinese Department of Suzhou University was invited to speak on "Adherence to the independence of the Church and further promotion of the sinicization of Christianity" with almost one hundred people attending the forum.
Pastor Dai Yongsheng, chairman of CCC&TSPM of Suzhou, presided over the forum while Pastor Huang Xingping planned it.
Suzhou Gospel Church is located on South Dahe Avenue in Suzhou City. It was established by the American Presbyterian Mission in the late Qing Dynasty, using architecture in a rare imperial style and has over a hundred years of history.
