Satan seems to be controlling the world. When we are self-centered, resent each other and chase worldly material, we're already under the power of Satan. Then how can we be free from his control? The answer is through the Lord Jesus Christ. When Christ is in us, the light will shine out the darkness inside us.
An international Christian leader shares the message of "Christ in us" in a special meeting hosted by a house church in Shanghai.
He mentioned that the best way to get rid of our sinful nature is to let Christ dwell in us and experience the salvation from him.
He says, "Satan, the ruler of the world, plunders his followers by all means. Since our birth, we've been under his control. We have no way to escape it and don't even know that there is an unseen 'king' in the world: Satan." Romans 3:10-12 claims, "There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one."
The speak continues, "Some may state, how could I be a sinner since I have never sinned in my life so far? Sins not only refer to the sins you commit in the world, but also the (original) sin from Adam. The world is distorted. Humans are born in the sinful history as a fruit of sins and descendants of Adam. Born in separation with God, we continue to sin against God."
Nobody acknowledges verbally that he is a sinner, unless he does break the law. But the Bible tells that "My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear. (Psalm 38:4) " "As we have so many sins more than our hair that they cannot be counted, how can we repent these sins? We can't confess and repent by ourselves. A man who never regards him as a sinner is impossible to confess his sinful nature. Only through Christ in us can we know our sins."
"When we know Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit fills Christ in our hearts, reviving our beautiful souls created by God. We are able to see good fruits of the Spirit through Christ... We realize that we're controlled by sins, not so beautiful as we think. At that time we recognize salvation and that we need it."
What is salvation? "We were trapped in sins and meant to die, but the sinless Jesus become a sin offering us so that we won't die of sins, instead, we can live because of his death. Jesus saved us from the bondage of sins and Satan's ruling." That is the salvation from Jesus Christ.
When we receive salvation, we receive new life. "The Holy Spirit enters into us, making us like Jesus. We have the authority to overcome the world through Jesus. That Christ lives in us is a guarantee. He gives us strength so that we can receive the promise of the Lord."
Then what is the Lord's promise?
Matthew 28:18-20 "Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
"Therefore, when we know sins and the significance of salvation, the Holy Spirit lives in us."
The speaker concluded, "When Christ is in us, we will receive his promise and do his work, for Jesus said to us, 'I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. '"
