The Christian churches of Wu-an, Hebei was honored by local Bureau of Ethnic and Religious Affairs for their outstanding performance during the heavy rainstorm in July 2016.

On July 19, 2016, Wuan suffered a heavy rainstorm, which resulted in flash flooding. Power went off in some regions, roads were swept away, and some people were trapped by floods. After the disaster, CCC&TSPM of Wuan notified churches to help and pray for the situation.
On July 30, Wuan Christian Church prepared disaster relief materials, totally worthing 9,500 yuan, to offer help in the severely affected area, Yangyi Township. On Aug 1, the church formed rescue units to help cleaning the sludge in some believers' houses in Cishan Village. The next day, Pastor Li Xiuli and others went to visit four households that lost family due to the flood and left monetary gifts for consolation. Later, the church went to Dongmazhuang and Majiazhuang to visit the believers affected by the disaster and send care and help.
After learning of the severity, other churches came to help too. They brought consolation goods and donations to the families affected by the disaster and visited churches affected in different places.
