On Dec. 10 and 11, 2016, Cheng'ao Church of Jiaocheng district, Ningde City, Fujian province, invited the Medical Team of Quanzhou CCC&TSPM to treat villagers. The church also offered free medicine to sick villagers.
The free treatment included internal Medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, orthopedic, Cardiovascular, dermatological, traditional Chinese Medicine, ophthalmology and otorhinolaryngology, orthopedics and traumatology, psychiatry, physiotherapy, biochemistry, laboratory test, type B ultrasound, cardiogram, checking blood pressure, and more. They treated more than 1,500 patients within two days.
According to the website of China CCC&TSPM (contributed by Lin Chaoqun and Chen Yansi), this free medical treatment ministry consisted of two parts. One was to treat the villagers and offer free medication so that they could receive free and effective treatment from specialist experts. The other was to jointly host a party with the local church.
At the evening party, the doctors from the team showed their various talents, and the young people from Cheng'ao Church were very passionate and lively. Together they provided an amazing show for everyone.
The Quanzhou Christian Medical Team was founded in Oct 1996. It is equipped with all departments, the equivalent of a small mobile hospital. Since its foundation, it has gone to remote mountainous areas, ethnic villages, disaster-affected areas, and other areas to carry out free medical services. Their footprints were all over Fujian and even across the country, and the furthest they've been to was Yushu Qinghai and others.
According to an article in China Ethnic News in Mar 2016 "Targeted Measures for helping Minority Villages Out of Poverty from Religious Communities in Fujian," in the 19 years since the Medical Team was founded they have paid visits to patients over 395 times and been to over 200 villages. They have also traveled 78,000 kilometers and treated over 140,000 patients, which has saved the patients over 5.41 million yuan. They have successively won" advanced unit" in "Haixi Spring Rain Action" in Fujian, and Advanced Collective of contribution to the economic and social development of National Christian community, and other honorary titles.
