Wafangdian Church now has three chapels, including Linxia Chapel, Xishan Chapel, and Songshu Chapel.
Xishan Chapel was built in 1984 when there were only several dozens of believers gathering there. During the Cultural Revolution, the church was occupied. A new church with an area of 500 square meters was not built until the government’s policy was implemented.
Before the Xishan Chapel was built, an aged pastor named Zhang Jiuru had been leading and shepherding the believers. In the year when the building of Xishan Chapel was completed, the aged pastor passed away. The church has since experienced an over-10-year period during which there was no shepherd. In 1995, Zheng Guangyi graduated from the Moukden Theological College and joined Wafangdian Church. Especially blessed by the God, the church in Wafangdian City has since seen an increasing number of people who were saved by the god on a daily basis.
In 1997, as the original Xishan Chapel could not meet the believers’ requirement of normal gathering, and it happened that the Lingdong Mall was for sale. So the believers made donations to raise funds of 1.5 million yuan and bought the mall. It became a chapel after renovation. The reconstructed chapel is located at No.119, East Changchun Road, Wafangdian City. It is 47m in length between the East and West and 15m in width, covering an area of more than 700 square meters and having a total construction area of 2,250 square meters. Besides, it is a 3-storey building with a frame structure and can accommodate more than 2 thousand people for gathering.
The chapel's backyard is a quadrangle surrounded by tile-roofed houses with an area of over 600 square meters. Between 2009 and 2010,it was transformed into a nursing home with a building area of 4,400 square meters, which now has been put into use and become a very good gospel window. Located in Songshu Town surrounded by mountains, the Songshu Chapel is an affiliated Gospel Hall of the Wafangdian Church. There are nearly 100 people gathering there and various ministries are waiting to be done.
