The largest and most influential church in Tianjin --- Shanxi Road Church is preparing for its 20th anniversary of founding.
The three-self church houses the offices of the Tianjin CCC and TSPM.
It was formerly named as "Wesley Church" in memory of the founder of the Methodist Church. The older church was completed in May 1913 and founded by the Methodist Episcopal Church. It was demolished entirely in 1995.
One year later, the new church was constructed in Shanxi Road, the original church's name. It holds two Sunday services and a bread-breaking meeting will take place after the first Sunday service of each month.
