On July 9, a suburban campus of the Beijing Haidian Church held an emergency-medical-aid themed health public lecture for its congregations.
Speedway Aid Network, a Non-governmental aid organization, was the main speaker for this event. The organization was founded by a brother of the campus choir in 2015, according to the statement from the Haidian Church. It has fulfilled the rescue and safeguard services for more than ten sports events in the campus since its establishment.
Combined with the handbook for first-aiders of the Red Cross Society of China, the lecturer explained and directed several emergency aid projects including CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation), binding up traumas, handling burns and scalds, stanching bleeding and airway obstruction rescue with the reference to a large number of emergency aid practice sessions. The trainees benefited a lot from the lecture.
Meanwhile, the team prepared a lot of equipment for them to practice, coupled with the careful guidance of the speaker.
"In the future, if they meet any passer-by or relative injured who needs help, they can come forward boldly and provide rescue positively with kind hearts and skills while reflecting the love of the Lord." The church comments.
The Haidian Church was established in 1933 and renovated in 2005. The church was officially dedicated in 2007 and located in the western section of Zhongguancun or "China's Silicon Valley." The church has a multitude of ministries to cater to all ages and it has six Sunday services starting from 7 am to 7 pm. One of these services is done in English, which is often a preference for foreign visitors in the area.
