The youth fellowship of Changsha Beizhengjie Christ Church will be volunteering in a primary school located in a village in Nayong County, Bijie, Guizhou from June 18 to 21.
According to the church, the fellowship will give donations, clothes, textbooks, stationeries, sports and education supplies for the school in order to provide the educational support.
The church stated that there are 168 students in the school, consisting 136 students from grade one to grade six and the rest in the pre-school class. Among these students, there are 64 left-behind children and 2 orphans.
In an article by a blogger "XIN Charity" written in 2010, it said that the school is situated in mountains with blocked traffic and the locals have been living with financial difficulty on the average.
It added that most of the children there have been undereducated and a large percentage of students drop out of school at grade three or four for jobs. It is very rare for some students to study in middle school and there's only one undergraduate in the whole village.
