On Dec. 5 and 6, Nanjing Mochou Lu Church held the baptism service and 79 seeks were baptized.
The Church's official website says that Rev. Li Lancheng and Rev. Jiang Junyu held the baptism. Every baptized people answered the three basic questions: "Do you want to accept Jesus as your own savior?", "will you read the Bible, pray and mediate on God's words after the baptism?" and "are you willing to observe the principles in the Bible, live the holy life to glory God and edify people and be a testimony for the Lord?" They all answered "I do". It is until seeing that their family and friends have changed that they walk into the church and know the gospel.
Mochou Lu Church, built by Charles Leaman of the Presbyterian Church USA has the longest history among churches in Nanjing, traced back to 1888. Mochou Lu Church, called Jesus Church then, was renamed "Hanzhong Church". Rev. Paul Abbott rebuilt Hanzhong Church in 1936. Hanzhong church was renamed "Mochou Lu Church " in 1954. The church now has over 4,000 members, attending nine different services and gatherings during the week. About 3800 people regularly attend Saturday and Sunday services. Baptism is held twice a year, once before Christmas and one before Easter.
