A memorial service for a female elder aged 82 was hosted in a municipal funeral home in Anhui Province.
In the memorial ceremony held at Huayulu Church in Maanshan City on February 17, Senior Pastor Yang An led the ceremony to remember the late Elder Wei Shengxiu who served as the church's deputy director from the establishment year of 2003 to 2013, according to the church.
Elder Zhang Yanxin, president of the Maanshan municipal CC&TSPM, gave a brief eulogy of Elder Wei who became a Christian after coming to Maanshan with her family in 1958. After churches in Maanshan resumed their gatherings in 1980, she began to participate in church services then rested peacefully in the Lord's arms at the age of 82 on February 15, 2022.
Rev. Wang Lixian, senior pastor of Huaguoshan Church, shared the gospel with her family members and believers, giving testimony for her during the years of working with her.
At the funeral, the choir of Huayu Road Church also sang the song of “O Think of the Home Over There” to see off Elder Wei to return to heaven. Finally, Rev. Wang Yongmei, chairman of the municipal CC&TSPM gave blessings.
