G20 Summit: Chinese President Xi Jinping Arrives, Insists on Peaceful Resolution

Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived safely in Hamburg, Germany for the G20 Summit on Thursday, July 6. Xi reportedly hopes to reconcile issues, such as economy and peace, with other countries.

In a published article by German media, Xi stated that China hopes that the G20 major economies will continue about the development of the open world economy.

Xi said that the world economy is still facing daunting challenges despite "further consolidation of growth momentum and the upbeat economic outlook in both the developed and emerging economies."

He added that international economic cooperation should continue "to follow through on the consensus reached at Hangzhou and all its previous summits and lead the way forward for the world economy."

Meanwhile, President Xi Jinping said that China will continue to support the denuclearization of Korea and seeks to resolve the issue through consultation and dialogue. It can be recalled that Xi Jinping arrived in Berlin, Germany on Tuesday and conducted his state visit to Germany prior to the G20 summit. He aimed to cement close ties with the major country of Europe.

He also met Republic of Korea President Moon Jae-In in Berlin, where they discussed on maintaining stability and peace on the peninsula.

In addition, Moon Jae-In spoke positively about China's handling of the nuclear issue in the Republic of Korea, adding that South Korea hopes to enhance the cooperation and coordination of China to achieve denuclearization and to safeguard the two region's peace and stability.
